Charity founder Brian Burnie set-up Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care some 9 years ago – The charity has been hugely successful in the North East of England transporting patients who require Chemotherapy and / or Radiotherapy to and from hospital at no charge. With over 40,000 journeys each year from a team of 300+ Volunteers and a fleet of 30 ambulances, Brian has decided to take the service nationwide.

Brian, 74, is walking 7,000 miles round the coast of Great Britain and Ireland to promote and expand the service nationwide. He started on March 5th 2018 and has completed almost 3,000 miles starting in Newcastle, around Scotland and Cumbria in to Lancashire.
